Is Laughter the best medicine? We attempt to answer this and other pressing questions in Doctor Vs Comedian. Dr Asif Doja is a pediatric neurologist and Ali Hassan is a stand up comedian and actor (CBC‘s Laugh Out Loud, Designated Survivor, Goon) who are each fascinated by what the other one does. In each episode, Asif picks a topic for Ali from comedy and entertainment and questions Ali about it. Then Ali picks a topic from medicine and health and grills Asif on that subject. We talk about serious subjects in an unserious way. If you want to hear about comedy, entertainment, health and wellness and don‘t want to have to choose between being entertaining AND informed, then this show is for you.

Today, Ali and Asif review a movie they saw together recently in an actual movie theatre –‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3’ (2:52). They start off by discussing where we last left off with the Guardians in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They then discuss the original hiring of director James Gunn for the franchise several years ago and the controversy regarding his firing and rehiring by Marvel in 2018. They discuss how integral Gunn is to ‘Guardians’ and how the character of Rocket (played by Bradley Cooper) is central to the storyline. They also discuss Gunn’s future as the cinematic mastermind of future Superman movies and the DC Cinematic Universe as a whole. The guys then give their spoiler-free review of the movie and then discuss some plot points – SPOILERS for GOG Vol3 start at 21:48. Then the guys discuss artificial sweeteners (24:24). Asif starts off by discuss what artificial sweeteners are and the different types.
