Dr Asif Doja is a pediatric neurologist and Ali Hassan is a stand up comedian and actor (CBC‘s Laugh Out Loud, Designated Survivor, Goon) who are each fascinated by what the other one does. In each episode, Asif picks a topic for Ali from comedy and entertainment and questions Ali about it. Then Ali picks a topic from medicine and health and grills Asif on that subject. We talk about serious subjects in an unserious way. They also discuss comedy albums by Chris Rock and Mike Birbglia and music from boygenius and the Gaslight Anthem. Finally they discuss books such as ‘Sunshine Nails’ and podcasts such as ‘R U Springing Springsteen on my Bean’.
Then, they preview what entertainment they are looking forward to in 2024 (44:13) including numerous sequels to ‘Inside Out’, ‘Beetlejuice’, ‘Joker’’, ‘Gladiator’, ‘Deadpool’, and ‘Beverly Hills Cop’, as well as original movies such as ‘Mickey 17’ and ‘Megalopolis’. They also discuss upcoming TV shows such as ‘Penguin’, ‘X-Men ‘97’, ‘Kite Man’, Mr and Mrs. Smith and “The 3 Body Problem’.
