Dr Asif Doja is a pediatric neurologist and Ali Hassan is a stand up comedian and actor (CBC‘s Laugh Out Loud, Designated Survivor, Goon) who are each fascinated by what the other one does. In each episode, Asif picks a topic for Ali from comedy and entertainment and questions Ali about it. Then Ali picks a topic from medicine and health and grills Asif on that subject. We talk about serious subjects in an unserious way. Today, to start off, the guys clarify an error from a few episodes ago regarding Netflix’s pricing tiers (1:24). Then Ali and Asif review Jon Mulaney’s new special ‘Baby J’ (4:20). Before this they briefly review Jon Mulaney’s career as a standup comedian and as a writer for ‘Saturday Night Live’ and ‘The Snack Lunch Bunch’. SPOILERS for the special start at 10:20. Then, since Mulaney’s special is about his recovery from cocaine addiction, Ali asks Asif about Cocaine toxicity (45:14). Asif first discusses the history of cocaine use and abuse throughout history. He then discusses how cocaine causes its effects on the body as well as the symptoms of cocaine intoxication.
